Following a conference call on Wednesday 18th November with Transport Scotland and East Lothian Council it was confirmed that we should continue to operate routes 108, 111 and 118 as normal.
Even though these services enter a level 3 area, and East Lothian is moving to level 2, it was agreed that there is still a need for essential travel for work and shopping.
We do however recommend that passengers Stay Safe and Support Local in East Lothian.

myTrip is our new app which provides mobile ticketing, live bus tracking information and live passenger levels on board each bus.
myTrip is available in both the App Store and the Google Play Store.

Mobile tickets are available for Adults, Children and for NHS Staff and are available for use in either our 'Urban Zone' or across our entire network. There are day tickets, which are valid for 24 hours from purchase, 7 day tickets and a 10 journey carnet.
The app also gives information on where our buses are and how many passengers are onboard, all of which we hope our customers find both useful and reassuring in the current climate.

The service will run between Seton Sands and Fort Kinnaird on it’s previous route, but will now be extended to Edinburgh Royal Infirmary. The extension of the 118 to the ERI will aid social distancing on our 111 Royal Infirmary service and provide a direct link from the eastern side of Musselburgh to the hospital for the first time.

There will be seven weekday return journeys, every hour from Seton Sands between 0800 and 1400 with return journeys from the Royal Infirmary between 0900 and 1500. On a Saturday 118 journeys will alternate with 111 journeys to provide a mostly hourly service from the Royal Infirmary.

This extension to the ERI will be for a trial period to gauge customer demand. Service 118 has always been very popular with passengers but due to being in a low fare zone revenue was poor, this added to the drop in overall passenger numbers due to COVID-19 has meant it has been very difficult to justify reinstating the route. We hope the added option of travel to the Royal Infirmary will in time boost passenger numbers and then hopefully in due course we can expand the number of daily journeys.

On Monday 10th August we will introduce an improved timetable on the 111 service. There are now two more full journeys between Haddington and the ERI. This will now become the new standard 111 timetable which we aim to keep in place for the foreseeable future

The 111X journeys will no longer run and are replaced by full 111 journeys. Due to the need for bigger buses the route through Longniddry will change. The 111 will continue on the A198 to the top of Dean Road with Links Road, Kings Road and KIngs Avenue no longer served

From this Saturday,1st August ,we will be reinstating a full Saturday service on the 108. There will now be a bus every hour from 0900 to 1500 from Haddington and every hour from 0955 to 1555 from Fort Kinnaird.

This will now become the new standard timetable which we aim to keep in place for the foreseeable future. Timetables are available on our website and printed versions are now on our buses.

We have offered free travel to NHS Workers since 1st April, as a thank you during the COVID-19 outbreak, but as we move out of lockdown and into the 'New Normal' this offer will come to an end after 4 months on 31st July.

**New Service from Monday 10th August 2020**
We are introducing a new service to provide a link between Humbie, East Saltoun, Pencaitland, New Winton, Elphinstone, Tranent and Macmerry to the East Lothian Community Hospital and Haddington High Street.
Over 90% of 110 journeys are made between Elphinstone and Tranent High Street so most day time 110 journeys will be replaced by 109 journeys which will give the added option of stops at ASDA and ALDI in Tranent as well as a connection to the new Community Hospital in Haddington.
Since the closure of Church Street from January to March, and then COVID restrictions, passenger use of the 110 between Tranent and Prestonpans or Port Seton has reduced to extremely low levels.

As announced today by the First Minister it will be mandatory to wear face coverings on public transport from Monday 22 June with some exceptions.
